BakTu Musik signs multi-award winning Berlin based singer/songwriter:
KILEZA is a South African born singer/songwriter who calls the world home. Kileza was named Kgomotso Tsatsi by her parents whose roots stem from a rural village in Kuruman called GaSehunelo in the Northern Cape. A year long negotiation process saw KILEZA signing with BakTu Musik with the hope of touring South Africa for more performances while she will also be getting a chance to visit her parents and relatives in Johannesburg.
KILEZA started off her music career by entering the SA Idols competition where she reached the top 6 finalists. After reaching such a milestone in the SA Idols in 2003, KG (now KILEZA) went on to live and perform in Argentina, Canada, South Africa and now Germany, she is a musical nomad, and a talented vocalist with a mellifluous timbre; quickly making an impression on the German musical landscape.

Kileza then moved to Berlin where she had the privilege of performing in some of the city’s greatest venues including the A-Trane and the Berlin Philharmoniker. She's toured and performed with some of Germany's finest acts including live performance with the "Kelvin Sholar Trio" at Jazz Festival Accra, Ghana. She also sang live with Marcia Barrett of Boney M. She also performed with Andrej Hermlin (2011), Mic Donet and Ivy Quainoo of "The Voice of Germany" and Fantastichen Vier for MTV Unplugged in 2012.
KILEZA introduced her name in the Canadian music scene by winning the Waterloo Idols in 2005 as well as reaching the (2007) Top 20 finalists stage of the USA World Showcase out of 40,000 contestants. Whilst in Canada, she won (2008) production and radio contests with The Beat 91.5 in Kitchener and Flow 93.5 Toronto's most popular urban station. KILEZA also won (2006) Talent Rock winner of Acting Competition. In 2007 KILEZA won the “Rhythm of the Future” contest and was selected for "Honey Jam" concert; the stomping grounds of Canadian artist Nelly Furtado. The year 2008 also saw KILEZA winning awards in international songwriting competitions such as the "100% music songwriting contest”.
What they had to say about KILEZA:
"...South Africa’s KG (now KILEZA), wearing gold-sequined jeans, whose searing slow-jam intro automatically made all stand to attention before she rocked a Déjà Vu-like hotstepper in a voice that could make Beyoncé want to practise more."- Addi Stewart, Now Magazine Toronto
"One of the most powerful live vocal displays that I have EVER seen..." - Lawrence Kerr , Jazz.FM 91.1 Toronto, Canada
