The xx Release 'Say Something Loving' Video

The xx have released a video for ‘Say Something Loving’. Filmed in the band’s hometown of London, the video was directed by renowned photographer and filmmaker Alasdair McLellan who also directed the video for previous single ‘On Hold’ (which was shot in Marfa, Texas). ‘Say Something Loving’ is taken from The xx’s hugely acclaimed third album I See You, which debuted at number 1 in the UK album charts on release in January.

Speaking about the video, The xx stated “We wanted to celebrate our home town and revisit some of the places that reminds us of our friendship when we were growing up. We're so happy to be back home and so excited to begin our Night + Day residency in Brixton this week!”

Meanwhile, The xx launch their Night + Day Brixton festival today (Wednesday 8th March). The festival runs for eight days from 8th-15th March and features a remarkable programme of events across multiple areas of the arts. In addition to The xx’s record-breaking run of seven sold out shows at London’s legendary 5,000 capacity O2 Academy Brixton, Night + Day Brixton will feature a series of creative collaborations with musicians, producers, DJs, local partners and charities that The xx are passionate about.

These include:

- Night + Day Brixton Cinema @ The Whirled Cinema: Every day screenings of The xx’s favourite films and curations from guest directors, featuring Q+A talks and panels. Curators include The xx, Jeremy Deller, Gurl Talk (Adwoah Aboah), Andrea Arnold and Romain Gavras. All taking place at The Whirled Cinema, 259-260 Hardess Street, London SE24 OHN.
