PRESS RELEASE: 14 September 2017
A show fit for September 2047 taking place in September 2017
Last year Award Winning comedian, Kedibone Mulaudzi, made history as the first comedian in the world to attempt to stage a 3D standup comedy show, where each joke was accompanied by a relevant image and relevant sound effect. The dream fell short because Kedibone and team underestimated how big the idea is when it came to images and sound implementation.
The show, which was called Underrated – Kedibone Mulaudzi’s 3D Comedy special, was staged in November 2016 without the sound effects as they were not ready by the time of the show. The funny thing was that the visuals were good enough to show the capabilities of the idea and the crowd did not pick up that the sound effects were missing. Although incomplete the first ever 3D Stand up Comedy Show was well-received and received raving reviews from the comedy fans that witnessed it. The futuristic stand-up comedy show left people amazed by what they saw “I felt I was inside each and every joke you did.”, “I have never seen this before.”, “You are onto something great.” “This show will put you up there where you truly belong Kedibone.” and “You should tour the world with this show.” were just some of the countless positive comments we received after our first attempt to stage and execute the show at the theatre next to Jabulani Mall in Soweto.
Post the November 2016 ground-breaking show Kedibone and his team spent most of this year adding in the sounds and putting final touches to the Visuals onto the show. The team is made up of Mr Mthobisi Cele, Visual Designer from MDot Productions and Mr Tinyiko Lovemore Nkuna, Sound Designer from Aquanote Productions. The show is finally ready for the South African comedy fans. The show was test driven in Botswana Gaborone on August 19th and will be staged in South Africa in September and in Lesotho afterwards.

The show now titled B(L)ACK FROM THE FUTURE – Kedibone Mulaudzi 3D Stand Up Comedy Special will take place as a 40 minute comedy special that will take place at Parkers Comedy Club in Monte Casino, Fourways on September 27, 28, 29 and 30 September where he will have 1 local and 1 international opening acts. The futuristic show will also be staged on Sunday afternoon of October 1st at Joburg Theatre in Braamfontein where Kedibone, the ONLY Comedy Gold Medalist in South Africa.
