Eclectic producer duo, Locnville (LCNVL), fly the South African flag high in the new music video to their latest hit single, ‘I Can’t Sleep’.

Locnville (LCNVL), who moved to Los Angeles at the beginning of this year have been hard at work on new material and, they wanted to make it clear where they were from, because they are proud to be South Africans making noise in the world.

‘I Can’t Sleep’, boasts an edgy urban feel with a hook that is guaranteed to make its way into your daily shower singing rituals.

Speaking on the new sound, Andrew states: “We’ve always been known for experimenting with our production, and I felt that it was important to really do that again with this new track. We combined a lot of tribal sounding percussion to bring back the kind of music that we grew up on. I remember taking a lot of road trips up North Africa and listening to World Moods and albums like that, it’s always resonated with me yet it’s something we’ve never really tried to incorporate into our own production up until now. “

Speaking on the jarringly simple and catchy hook, Brian adds: “We literally couldn’t sleep, and we were up having drinks one night playing the beat over and over again trying to come up with a hook. Eventually, we realized we were trying to write everything except what we were feeling at that moment, so we just started singing ‘I drink often and I don’t sleep’ and the hook pretty much wrote itself from there.”
